I'm not sure that's how it will play out...though I am sure that it will play out. The possibility I see is that coders become like book keepers. At the high end there will be the equivalent of Fortune X00 CFO's and Wall street money people etc. In the middle there will be CPA level positions that range from big business accounting departments to small shops. But the average route will be programming for small and medium businesses as an employee or contractor. Small and medium businesses can use specific solutions around existing processes. It's not glamorous. It's not at scale. But the money is or will be there (though it may not be as much).
