Any of them automatically connect to open wifi networks or maybe cellular networks?

You may be able to check that by reviewing FCC documentation online similar to how people sleuth out new phones, though I've never looked at what precisely is required in terms of filing.

> maybe cellular networks

That would probably cost too much. At least I hope so.

Amazon used to provide free networking for its readers... I think that it is very cheap to transfer text/"meta-data"... It might even be sponsored by the government...

The FBI stole my Litecoins from BTC-E ... I didn't even claim that loss because it was very small.

If you are talking about the NSA, yes they do have a special channel with Apple... not sure who else does...

unless there is a secret law that prevents them to actually do it...

For two programs that do the same thing coded in the same language, I would pick the one with the least amount of lines but that doesn't mean that less work went into it... Probably the opposite

Tesla is already starting to see competitors... if they don't get better quality control, it will probably hurt them soon enough

This government is sick...

In the US, many counties/cites have license plate readers installed already... Not quite as bad as facial recognition but....

We have ANPR[0] in the UK. Makes it very easy to follow vehicles around the country on main roads.

That's not a real flame thrower.... I used to do something similar to this when I was 10 with a hair-spray can and a lighter

Most homes would probably benefit more by having better insulation... If you are only talking about dollars...
