The problem is, now is the only time when something actually can be done. When this overs, we're going back to "everything's fine" until some crisis happens again...

Just cut the price to match SD plan and everything is OK.

Will Netflix be understanding and forgiving if pandemic would cut our income, so we wouldn't be capable of paying for subscription and started pirating their originals?

Perhaps. Amazon Videos and Pornhub Premium are both free in Italy, for example. I don't see anything about Netflix being free there, though.

You can't develop and deploy IOS or hybrid apps on any other system, and OSX is a pain to run on a VM...

They figured it out with GDPR, so I don't think there will be a problem with that.

Have you read what types of malware is on the list? "Download and install this app from sketchy place" kind of thing...

My partner has downloaded malware from the play store.

or is the play store sketchy? Where is the official repository of safe applications?

I'm from Poland, a country which has one of the highest percentages of adblocker users. Most pages adapted to it by either doing nasty tricks to bypass them, or just slapping an unclosable popup telling you to disable your adblocker...

I've seen a few such websites. Hit back button and never visited them again.

> Seems like an awful lot of configuration to get it half working like you want.

Now look at it other way around. How much time would you have to spend to configure OSX to behave like Ubuntu?

As someone who uses both, I'd kill for middle click paste...

I'd kill for having a fully consistent copy/paste on Linux :-D

As of today, without any extra clipboard manager installed, if I copy something from the Network Manager GUI, and I close it, the content is lost.

(I'm a hardcore linux user, so this is a small joke, but still a typical Linux issue)

Karabiner, and it’s free.

KeyboardMaestro could probably do that on the Mac

People using Mac hardware never seem to be aware of how simple life is with select + middle click

You just need to uncheck one setting, which you are directed to when you first try to install an apk...

Now tell me, how can I get an alternative app store, or an internet browser, that doesn't use crappy Webkit on iOS...

https://www.cnet.com/how-to/how-to-install-amazon-appstore-o...

This article on how to install the Amazon App store and third party APKs pretty much sums up the situation. On the surface it seems like a great idea to allow third party apps, but in practice it actually leads to a degraded experience, viruses, and vulnerabilities, as evidenced by the editor’s note at the top of the article recommending against doing what the article is saying.

Not being able to sell your application, because another company doesn't like it, is giving up an essential liberty.

Unless an app essential to their business gets taken down from an app store, with no way around that.
