Basically any inter-process communication (IPC). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inter-process_communication . There are fancier IPC mechanisms, but none as widely supported as just sending arbitrary data over a socket. It wouldn't surprise me if e.g. this is how Chrome processes communicate with each other.

surreptitiously

Yup definitely. Edit: the diagram makes it perfectly clear https://yandexmetrica.com:30103/p?...

It even looks like some of the certs were issued by Yandex to Yandex. I guess their cert division will end up writing an incident report for this.

The idea of competing perspectives from the political left and right is majorly under attack. In 2020, the NYT fired the editor who oversaw the opinion page for publishing the perspective of an influential senator who had the ear of the president. WaPo had similar internal debates, with many staff members loudly objecting to the publishing of perspectives from the political right. There's an school of thought that says when you can't win, you should try to lose as painlessly as possible. This change looks a lot like that.

In 2016, Bezos was anti-Trump and the Democratic candidate for president (Hillary Clinton) got nearly twice as much money from rich people as the Republican candidate for president (Donald Trump). It's not a sufficient explanation to say that the Trump or Republican ideology fundamentally appeals to rich people more.

> not due to lack of police but rather vigilantes roaming and causing trouble.

I wonder why the vigilantes thought they could get away with it

RCP (www.realclearpolitics.com) does exactly this every day and has for almost two decades now. Unfortunately, RCP is currently majorly out of favor among liberals for... including in their polling average polls that showed Trump was going to win the 2024 election and linking to op-eds that agreed with Trump at the height of anti-Trump sentiment.

I'm aware of a sexual harassment allegation against Musk, but no rape allegation, and wasn't able to find one on Google. Do you care to share a link or retract your claim?

The corporate veil can be pierced. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piercing_the_corporate_veil. From the Wikipedia page, it sounds like this is most common in the United Kingdom when a corporation "is established to avoid an existing obligation" - which is exactly what you're suggesting. I am not licensed to practice law anywhere, but particularly not in the United Kingdom, where I have never been.

To my understanding working at American non-profits, however, corporations are most helpful as a liability shield when they are clearly distinct entities, with distinct goals, and distinct decision making. In practice, that means having multiple people, writing some sort of charter / statement of purpose, and having quarterly meetings of a board of directors with quorums where notes are written and votes are taken. This can all be a fair bit of work, where before nothing was required.

During the Rwandan genocide, the radio stations played incitement to violence. While "hate speech" is inclusive of speech that incites violence, the types of hate speech which people have contemporary political disagreements about (including this thread) do not include such incitement.

More importantly, causality doesn't erase culpability. The step that immediately preceded the [Charlie Hebdo shooting](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Hebdo_shooting) was publishing a cartoon in a newspaper. Those who create hateful environments may have some culpability, but those that act almost always have greater culpability than those who speak.

The incitement to violence came later, at the climax, after the hatred was distilled via the type of hate speech we are discussing here. This is the etiology of all internal genocides. They all follow the same pattern. Attempting to inderdict the genocide just as the calls to violence are happening is too late, because the population is too radicalized by that point.
