But one thing is very common. It's that the cultural fit interviews are longer and carry more value than ever (possibly more than technical interview). Out of 5 stages, 2 or 3 are meeting non tech people, coming to the office, having an informal chat, etc. Companies really want to know you as a person and are very careful who they pick. It's the same for remote, hybrid or office based work.
I actually think this is a good thing. While the technical side is important, I think that having a person who the team gets along with and has a similar mindset is more important than ever.
Technical gaps will always be there, and people will have to work with those and learn.
Maybe I am just talking from the perspective of a SWE that is not exceptional, but this is my feeling.

Perhaps. My worry is that magazines will be full of AI generated content.
I enjoy reading some very niche magazines and, at the moment, I cannot tell if it's AI generated or not. So, as long as the reader is entertained, magazines will do just fine.
Either that, or we will develop some sort of proof that the content is human generated, not AI.
I have worked with computers for decades, I love it, and for me to not even want to look at a computer was impossible for me
I made it through the Army (decades ago), I ran my own company, handled employees, etc.
I have no problem with hard work and stress. My joy for computers was destroyed for a while, and it had nothing to do with the work itself, it was due to targeted intentionally malicious discrimination from the top

Strong disagree. I forgot to renew a domain a while ago and contacted their customer support. They asked $150 for a domain renewal. Registered domain somewhere else for $10. Moved away from Hover since then.
