One could argue that incompetent authoritarianism is better for the country than competent authoritarianism.

It's just too bad those are our only choices at the moment.

One could argue that ineptitude is the lubricant.

Practice makes perfect.

The headline reminds me of the Mr. Show sketch about America blowing up the moon [1].

> He never suppressed or oppressed anyone..."

Really?

"Reject feminism. Submit to your husband, Taylor. You’re not in charge." [1]

"...he didn’t want anyone to suffer."

Really?

"We need to have a Nuremberg-style trial for every gender-affirming clinic doctor. We need it immediately." [1]

"He had no version of correct..."

Really?

"The American Democrat party hates this country. They wanna see it collapse. They love it when America becomes less white." [1]

Thanks for mentioning this book. I just bought it, looking forward to reading it.

“I think founders need to create incentive mechanisms and the right atmosphere - where people want to work hard because they believe this is the best way to spend their time. It should feel like contributing to a mission that can’t be matched by other things.”

Question- how common are fully-remote software engineer gigs in Europe? I'm considering a relocation from the US (currently fully-remote) and this will be a huge factor in my decision.

This is much less. We say of the US that remote is "tradition" over there and it was used to explain why they can and we can't.

Covid changed things but they're is still a song mentality of in office work, especially in big older companies with an older middle management.

> Trump is a real estate guy.

I mean, these days it seems like he's more of a meme coin guy. [1]

Yeah, but he still has the perspective of 50 years ago.

He still thinks banks and a strong dollar works against him. While everyone else got more rich, he went bankrupt.

It doesn't. Nothing squares with anything anymore. "Rules for thee, not for me" is the name of the game from here on out.

Once you stop treating this administration like previous ones, and start treating it like the banana republic it is, things start to make much more sense.

It sounds like somewhere around level 4-7 of an Autocratic Legalism [1] strategy. Absolutely insane to see this happening in my home country.

4.8 million voters in Texas voted for the other candidate, and are still stuck in the situation mentioned in the article.

I'm all for Trump voters to reap what they've sown, but spare a thought for those who are paying the price for their neighbors' actions.
