Hey, not everything can be farm to table. Sometimes stuff has to get rerouted a few times.

They’re great relative to not having the option. I panicked and bought two more in January for just what seems about to happen.

Should have gotten three.

Oh Lord. I miss the hell out of bloglines and wish we could go back to the glory days of RSS but this headline reads like a guy tipping his Trilby before explaining Rock and Mirty.

That is begging about four questions.

I already see several in peer comments.

The ‘ra? Did I miss a step here?

You just ask them if they’re a cop, they have to tell you.

The Onion shared a much better method the other day. Just make the suspected cop "peacefully deescalate a conflict".

That's a myth purposely spread by cops in order to fool people. Even if it was true, unscrupulous cops looking for promotions would be breaking it like all the other rules they routinely ignore.

>unscrupulous cops

Just saying cops has the same meaning in less words.

no they dont. At least not in the US.

Cops can lie with impunity while in uniform, why would an undercover cop not lie to you?

Oh Lord, I apologize for being a person almost congenitally incapable of using /s. I had thought/ hoped the idea of an AI "cop" having to tell you it was a cop was ridiculous enough on its face, but it also occurs to me I am of a certain age where that was a very popular legend in the US and that doesn't apply to everyone. I accept the downvotes as appropriate!

That's what they want you to believe.

But will it cost less than $100M to render?

This feels like begging the question. But, in the interests of the topic, how should I see things when one branch of government is not only openly, but gleefully ignoring the will of a coequal branch while the third branch looks on in impotent compliance?

As a thing that happens, has happened many times, will happen many more times, and while possibly awful is not a sign that we’re about to become a fascist dictatorship?

It’s all a matter of framing and I was asking the parent if they’re open to an alternate frame because if not, they’re a toddler too and I don’t think they recognize it. The comments I got in reply were pretty solid evidence that it’s toddlers all the way down.

By whom?

This comment by saying it will be disastrous. Remember all the twitter predictions?

Underfunding and breaking of, for example, unemployment benefits systems causes real harm, real loss of medication, real loss of house, etc.

But that won't make the news in any meaningful way, and the destitute will often be too busy to make loud noises. And the populous at large will sigh and shake their head and say "what a shame", but the loss can be *enormous*.

> Underfunding and breaking of, for example, unemployment benefits systems causes real harm, real loss of medication, real loss of house, etc.

I thought we were talking about firing IT consultants? Let me know when that happens.

> But that won't make the news

I think that would make the news immediately. The media is very interested in DOGE and its shortcomings.

> I thought we were talking about firing IT consultants? Let

I read this whole thread as being about the broader 'cutting' trend,

OOP: when discussing the overall trend of cutting programs in other fields where the majority doesn't have that expertise, the conclusion is the opposite.

Parent: Rash moves like this are things politicians and corporate ladder climbers alike love to do, but then they run far away from the consequences.
