I’m honestly surprised their Glassdoor rating is as high as it currently is- perhaps review-washing? A year back when I interviewed for a position there, the rating was much lower, in the 2-3 range.

They have a 2.6 if all 15 current reviews are included. I believe you're right about review-washing; negative reviews I saw a year ago appear to have been removed.

I am assuming Asianometry’s YouTube channel is just the writer reading aloud his substack posts, if true that would be another way to consume his content.

Although I missed seeing the Orchestrion tour in the 2010s, Pat still takes a subset of these instruments on tour with him. Both of his two previous tours, Side Eye and Dream Box had parts of the concert that had robotic percussion and wind instruments.

Do you mean picaridin?

I am talking about permethrin, but maybe the GP made a typo?

Here is the product that I use on my livestock:

You and GP are probably referring to the same thing. Hikers sometimes use permethrin is on clothing, not on their bodies. No clue if what you linked would be appropriate on clothes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Permethrin#Insect_repellent

Permethrin applications last multiple washings; this is also why its use can be problematic environmentally, it sticks around a long time and can hurt aquatic life. I stick to DEET on my hikes, on account of it being less damaging environmentally, but I also don't live in an especially bad area for ticks.

No, they're different compounds. Permethrin is an insecticide, picaridin also know as icaridin, is an unrelated compound that's just a repellent.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Icaridin

Permethrin for treating clothes (apply thinly and let dry for 12 hours) is usually 0.5% strength, not the 10%+ used for livestock.

Absolutely enjoyed Stranger. Then enjoyed Divorce Attorney Shin which has the same protagonist actor as a completely different role.

I am pretty sure that the channel you linked is ripping off Thang’s videos. The color scheme looks way too close to his to think that it was made independently.

King Mechanical were also basically the same color scheme, not being an autodesk inventor user I don't know if it just a built in theme. I cant say, so I won't comment on who was first.

Does Amazon do an adjustment if the price moves up? This is already sleazy but if they wanted to be really sleazy they could adjust the price whenever it went up but never adjust it back down.

Mech engineer here. We truly buy everything we can for our company from here. If you order by 6pm and select ground shipping, it comes the next day by 11am, and we’re in Boston where the closest warehouses are NJ and Chicago.

Also they have the best return policy. If you don’t like it, send it back and they will reimburse you without asking a single question.

Lastly, part of the no-BS aspect is that no brands are given most of the time. You need test leads for a bench top multimeter? They offer whatever length or specs you want, and any of the ones you choose will be high quality and most likely made in the US (in my example, all their test leads are Pomona brand). The ability not to have to sift through Amazon reviews or decide whether a premium brand is worth it is easily worth the extra cost.

Sometimes I forget how good we have it in Europe. In the EU we have a pretty close to universal [0] 14 day no questions asked return period for all online purchases. You occasionally get a crappy retailer who tries to push back but one link to this document stops that pretty quickly.

Thanks for that - I replied from mobile and Firefox hides the URL by default so I didn't notice!
