The amount of code a human can review is the main bottleneck

100% Legend love Ghostty btw :)

Wonder how https://github.com/multigres/multigres vs PlanetScale will pay out eventually.

NVidia is the thing because they hired key people from SGI

and ATI.

Hard to say what net effect would be in my industry most positions are shifted to offices in countries other than US as is.

They really need to dial back on marketing bs. async multimaster takes away consistency. Piling on NewSQL DBS for slow synchronous writes to a quorum of nodes WTF?

async multi-master does trade off consistency for availability and latency. In PACELC terms, pgEdge leans into AP/EL, not CP. It’s built for low-latency local writes across regions, with built-in conflict resolution to manage eventual consistency. Definitely not trying to be a NewSQL quorum-write system. Just a different use case.

Depends on shooter's background. For state actors the easiest way to undermine US is to continue pushing towards more political violence in US via any and all means.

I am not sure why you are loosing your mind Anthropic dynamically adjusts knobs based on capacity and load Those knobs can be as simple as reducing usage limits to more advanced like switching to more optimized paths that have anything from more aggressive caching to using more optimized models etc. Bugs are a factor in quality of any service.

"it would give money to many parents who didn’t need it for child care". Looking at data like 77% of US workers would face financial difficulty if a paycheck was delayed by just one week. I would imaging % of people with kids who don’t need it for child care is fairly tiny.

Tech firms lobbied this change because they care about EBITA it makes their numbers look better

My tax accountant said every one of his clients was freaking out about it. So, I have to disagree.

If there was any lobbying incentive, it would be anticompetitive suppression of smaller companies that can't afford the tax increase.

This change has zero effect on your EBITA.

How would that make EBITA look better? (Even if you meant EBITDA, same question)

You are right reporting is via GAAP rules this only affects tax accounting
