It's not exactly what you're asking for, but <https://fly.io> is pretty neat. It's easy to get going and will deploy any docker images you want with a bit of their config added.

As for AWS ECS mentioned in the other reply -- it's great if you ever get it working, but it is a nightmare to learn and use.

Docker Compose cannot currently be deployed on fly.io: https://community.fly.io/t/deploy-with-docker-compose-yaml/4... .

Unfortunately, there's a huge gap between "single container" and "multiple, co-dependent containers". It's a far cry between services hosting a single container and ones offering to host entire stacks.

Right, I wasn't suggesting you could deploy with Docker Compose on fly.io. Hence why I prefaced my suggestion with "It's not exactly what you're asking for..."

And I think you're exaggerating the "huge gap" there. Fly.io can run multiple docker containers for you. Their docs are great so it wouldn't take much effort to learn how to create an equivalent or better setup that covers everything Docker Compose does (and more).

I agree fly.io comes close, but you’d still need to transition to ‘something else’ for deploying your compose project.

Am I the only one who uses browser profiles to separate my personal browsing from work or other organizations I'm a part of? When I mention this approach to people they give me a strange look like I'm crazy.

In Chrome you just create a new profile for each identity you have. If you're opening random incognito windows or using different browsers all the time to log in with different identities, you should be creating profiles instead. Everything is separate including bookmarks, sessions, cookies, extensions, etc.

For Firefox users, Multi Account Containers are definitely the way to go.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/multi-account...

I use separate browsers for work and personal. On a work machine, my personal stuff will be in Firefox and my work stuff in Chrome/Safari/whatever.

It's just easier for me to manage that way. That being said, my work google account is connected to my personal phone which is probably gonna mess me up at some point.

I go even further, corporate laptop for work, personal laptop for personal stuff.

A dedicated laptop solely for work is basic CYA and good practice, everyone should do it.

Yes, even if work doesn't provide a laptop for work purposes and you need to furnish your own. Same goes for phones, etc.

It might be expensive to maintain dedicated hardware to cordon off work from everything else, but it's still cheaper than if you hadn't and the inevitable biological waste impacts the aerodynamic wake generator.

I used to run Qubes on my laptop with one dedicated VM for school. However, I had to change to Windows for a mutlitude of reasons. Might work for some though, and certainly cheaper than dedicated devices.

I go even further. Two completely separate households - one for work, one for personal.

Insert obligatory Severance joke here

Essential if you are an employee. Same machine may be ok as a freelancer.

This is the way.

Not far enough. I have a dedicated internet provider subscribed to a place I rent specifically for work whose address I only use for work purposes, 3 states over. THAT is the way.

I take the next step, Vivaldi for personal and Chrome for work profiles. Firefox for non important profiles.

We don't know exactly why the account got taken over, but I doubt using the browser login would have prevented this (school azure taking over whatever microsoft account was logged in).

Also, Google tracks you across all websites once you login to the browser (even if you don't use google login on them). If they weren't tracking you, using the browser profiles would be great.

That's interesting! Can you provide some links to evidence regarding Vit K2-MK4, its effects on calcium in the bloodstream, and how that inhibits the effects of catecholamines and leads to sleep induction?

Vit K2-MK4 Osteoblasts better than Vit K1 in my experience, ie 50mg of K1 is nowhere near as good as 5mg K2-MK4. Calcium amplifies the effects of the catecholamines which probably explains why tea drinkers prefer hard water. Military also give out tea, during and after a exercise. High Vit A and Vit D can also lead to hypercalcemia which makes you feel good. https://scholar.google.com/

Remember Thomas Pynchon and be mindful of the fact that search engines wont always give you the studies you are looking for, so you have to go back and perform the same search's weeks and months later.

I was hoping you could provide the specific studies and research you are using to make your claims. Linking to Google Scholar is not sufficient.

What are you trying to achieve? Because I could also add, your omega 3 intake can also be a factor, Omega 3 reduces the number of osteoclasts for the flip side of the bone health and also increase the size of neutrophils which will engulf bacteria which invariable destroy bones and leads to arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. Growth hormone, either 95% of tryptophan via the kynurenic pathway or nicotinic acid on an empty stomach will increase the number of neutrophils, although medical experts will normally give intravenous growth factor aka growth hormone. Stress hormones like adrenaline will reduce the effectiveness of neutrophils (Left shift iirc) as will a B12 deficiency (neutrophil hyper segmentation). Omega 3 will increase the neutrophil size by just under 40% so that they are large enough to consume yeast cells, which makes me wonder if brewers yeast is potentially harmful. Manganese Ascorbate is also useful because much of the vit C is stored inside the neutrophils, so larger neutrophils mean high levels of Vit C, and the manganese can contribute to MnSOD to neutralise ROS inside the mitochondria and help to repair cartilage in places like knee joints.

Omega 3 also help the serotonin and melatonin in the brain and spinal fluid which also helps with getting to sleep.

When the UK govt were giving cod liver oil and malt to kids in the 50's or 60's, under the pretence of preventing Ricketts, they knew what they were doing to control future GDP and aggression levels.

Considering the Japs are experts in Vit K studies, and prescribe K2-MK4 to post menopausal women who are naturally consuming an iodine and omega 3 rich diet seafood diet and also happen to have some of the longest living females in the world, and some of the highest IQ's in the world, I think looking to them will give you more info than a typical western diet.

Just 150micrograms of T3 (Triiodothyronine - one iodine atom removed by selenium, with 80% of this T4-T3 conversion taking place outside of the thyroid gland) will half the time spent in Intensive care in hospitals. Tyrosine is the main ingredient of T3 (hormone) & T4 )pro-hormone) so your metadata for getting more tyrosine in your diet is when you start to get grey hairs.

Many govts, like the UK Govt are deliberately harming the population with their treatments provided by the health care system and what is taught at med school, which clogs up beds and pushes up house prices with the elderly who dont want to go into nursing homes. A crude example of Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, an agenda many govt's are now following around the world.

And choline can also reduce stress levels by reducing the CO2 build up in the body and lungs. Choline is used in the alveoli of the lungs to facilitate the gas exchange, its also used in the cell walls and the connection between neurons. The more choline you consume, the better your physical performance and mental ability. Personally I found L-Alpha glycerylphosphorylcholine to be best, but yet to try citicoline which is used in hospitals for brain injuries and costs about £3k a kilo.

Like I said, what you are trying to achieve?

How does this relate to Automatisch, if at all? The frontend, documentation, and codebase have eerie similarities to ActivePieces.

ActivePieces:

Automatisch:

Thanks for sharing, we're happy to see other open source automation tools! The projects are unrelated but you can find similarities between how OSS projects are generally structured as they get inspired from famous existing examples.

As to the fronted, I took a look and I think there is a big difference between the two. The UI is very different and one of the projects is built on React while the other is Angular.

You can change the default default branch on GitHub via <https://github.com/settings/repositories>.

I believe new GitHub accounts now have that set to main.

What?

I love this! It's exactly what I've been looking for and checks some boxes for things I've needed for a long time in a modeling (vs diagramming only) tool. I discovered C4 a few months back, so finding that it has C4 support is awesome.

Would you be willing to elaborate a bit on what frameworks, tools, and technologies are used to create IcePanel? Anything you're willing to share, and specifically I'm curious if you used React Flow.

Awesome, let us know if you have any feedback on the tool.

For the canvas we use https://pixijs.com, it's super powerful/performant and works well for us.

Even if you do unsubscribe successfully, they will periodically re-add you and send you marketing spam without your permission. I've unsubscribed from emails from cfmarketing@cloudflare.com so many times over the years. I've even sent them emails asking them to stop, but they just ignore me.

I agree, and even with the most sophisticated ways of tracking incoming overhead phenomena, worst case they'd still have only a small window of time to hide everything under the bed. And, you know, press the button that makes all the foundations flip to hide the buildings underground and reveal painted images of the desert and huge burning piles of alien corpses.

Also, it's "lose" x2 (sorry, the wrong word makes it hard to read). I'll remove this line if you could fix please.

I extend my profuse apologies for my keyboard fat fingers.

Regrettably there seems to be a time-delay on edits on HN, I no longer have an edit link to use.

No worries! I forgot about that too so my efforts are futile. Take care.
