You know these are businesses, right? And that behind the shiny, cheery language that these are venture capitalists, right?

Right?

How about just re-frame so that you do whatever is within your power so that you don't end up in the middle or at the bottom?

Why not just aim to be near the top? You don't need to be top dog, but you can at least be in the top 10% which is doable if you're able to post on HN.

You know if you just look at the last even like 200 years people have been through like 100x worse shit, let alone the last 2000.

This is just how life is, there will always be massive disruptions.

South America

Isn’t that what has happened historically?

Very cool!

How does it work? I’m not able to load anything on mobile.

Hmm, what URL are you visiting? Try https://www.easy3dmaps.com/quick360

When I used to work at my previous job, it was required that we have detailed PR descriptions (we had a template) and our commit messages were meant to be concise/clear.

So in practice it was usually not too bad. Git blame on any line could point me to the PR and any associated ticket.

You just need to have some discipline among the team because there would be slackers who didn’t want to take an extra 5 min. But you know. You weed them out.

so are the founders and employees fucked? wasn't this company valued at like 12b?

comparison is the thief of joy

That makes no sense here.

I’m wondering if founders and employees will lose out on any upside.

Considering the payouts will go to them after the investors.

is sales really that hard for people?

you just talk to people and convince them lol its not that hard. i didn't know i was good at sales turns out i just have to be me and people like what i gotta say

It's possible that you have natural charisma or talent. But I'd say the people on HN probably lean towards more introverted so sales is probably quite hard for them

It’s impossible if you’re scared of rejection, which an overwhelming amount of people are

hm i guess i'm weird then because idgaf about rejection as long as I have it my all

Yeah. Plus genuinely waiting to help oc

I always thought selling a good product is easy.

Creating a good product that is hard.

And selling a bad product is hard so the people with this skill makes a lot of money.

Creating a good product requires lots of interaction with your target customers. You can call the "sales" in the beginning, but it's really understanding how to tweak your product from an idea to solve a problem into something that fits into the customer's workflows and solves their problems. The only way to really validate the product is to see who pays money for it.
