Ubuntu Pro is still free for personal use on up to 5 physical machines, which covers my small home network just fine. It is annoying that they withhold security updates unless you fork over your email address, but I don’t recall them trying to sell me anything since I made an account
How many TPS do you get running GPT OSS 120b on the 395+? Considering a Framework desktop for a similar use case, but I’ve been reading mixed things about performance (specifically with regards to memory bandwidth, but I’m not sure if that’s really the underlying issue)
This would not help you unless you were planning to reimage the laptop. It’s a tool that makes it easier to build custom images, which are usually deployed at scale in enterprise environments.
The Wire is quite good if you’re willing to pay for it. It’s a print monthly first and foremost so the news isn’t up to the minute, but digital subscriptions are reasonable and the reviews are best in class imo
