The stories are maybe 1/10000th the importance of the quality of the music, which is simply Ok.

Doesn't matter if the cases were bad for them or not. They were still believed to be able to spread it.

"illiberal" or not, the COVID 19 vaccination mandates were good decisions that saved countless lives.

about 7 million people died of COVID according to the WHO: https://data.who.int/dashboards/covid19/deaths

AFAIK, that number more accurately reflects the number of people who died within two weeks of testing positive using PCR tests at high Ct values (35-45), inflating case counts.

94-95% involved at least one comorbidity.

Over 75% had at least four comorbidities.

From further down the page:

> A COVID-19 death is defined for surveillance purposes as a death resulting from a clinically compatible illness in a probable or confirmed COVID-19 case unless there is a clear alternative cause of death that cannot be related to COVID-19 disease (e.g. trauma). There should be no period of complete recovery between illness and death

It does not include cases like someone dying in a car crash who happened to be COVID-positive.

> It does not include cases like someone dying in a car crash who happened to be COVID-positive.

Maybe not, but it definitely includes millions of elderly or otherwise comorbid subjects who developed pneumonia and never recovered. Sad is it is, that happens year-in and year-out when the initial virus doesn't have a household name.

It also happens with the influenza virus ... except 2020 and 2021, where we had a miraculous reprieve from flu deaths.

> where we had a miraculous reprieve from flu deaths

It's not so miraculous to think that lockdowns, distancing and mask-wearing affected flu prevalence as well as COVID prevalence.

Methods used to combat COVID-19 (social distancing, masking, moving indoor events outdoors) really are quite effective at reducing the transmission of respiratory viruses. Big changes can come about from small changes in r.

Hey clearly _can_, the Stanley Parable Ultra Deluxe was released in 2022 and is in effect a sequel that was just as good if not better than the original

But you _would_ feel safe driving a car?

Not entirely, but the air quality is much better

How can you say that no positive male role models exist when the most positive male role model Northernlion streams Monday through Friday from 12-5pm

Any non bold role models?

No

From the GitHub page, they provide libz-rs-sys, a zlib-compatible C API for usage in non-Rust applications.

That's the most interesting thing to me; is this to the point where you could ex. drop it in to a Gentoo box with nothing but a USE flag and switch everything over to use it? (Sadly it's API compatible but not ABI compatible so we're still talking about needing to recompile, but sometimes that's a minor matter)

Huh, funny this should pop up here.

I recently started commuting by subway into work, so I had to pick up a subway book. I had been meaning to read this, so I went to my local book store and grabbed a copy.

It’s a really great book. Such a fascinating story. And short, too. I highly recommend giving it a read. It might synthesize some of your loose connections about Hinduism, Buddhism, and your own place in a chaotic world and what it means to live a happy life.

Languages are about trade-offs.

Compilers are. Languages are not.

Yup. He’s also my GitHub avatar.

The idea behind the name is a reference to the language providing the user the maximal set of tools

I see, so Scheme is the Satsui no Hado…
