I filled a patent in France. That was denied by the French office as being a conceptual method More than an invention. I accepted that decision. But there is a completely unexpected side effect, explained to me by a patent advisor. I probably now can oppose that nullified patent to any patent that would implement a version of that conceptual method. Not sure of the reality of that statement, but that’s a funny backfire.

it makes perfect sense. inventions implementing some abstract concept thats already known with prior art (like your rejected patent) cant really count as novel.

Google will win the AI war. I really don t see how things can be different. The true question is how much the involvement of Sergei Brin will have been a major part of that win. [but now that I work in a big corp, I can understand how one smart guy saying “shut the f..k up, managers. I show the path” can be extremely disruptive in those kind of environments. For the better!]

This was true until late April, when OpenAI's GPT Image 2 overtook Nano Banana 2.

Subjectively, OpenAI's image generation is the only one that consistently works for me and renders what I describe in the way I describe it at an acceptable level of quality. I don't understand how NB gets so much credit compared to what OpenAI is offering.

My comment regarding Google victory was not related to the merits of its current tooling. But to me, it is the only company with already established cash cows. and its speed of adaptation shows that it is not left behind for very long by competitors in delivering state of the art LLM models.
