I can only imagine a desolate landscape where hoards of hipsters roam the earth killing everyone with weaponized tweets and great smugness

That would make a fantastic movie. Or at least an SNL digital short.

This is not a guarantee. Linus is speculating, so is the website. Title is misleading

seems to open fine in california

That makes no sense. Being an HN member does not grant you magical survival abilities. Also, despite being an awesome place to be, SF is expensive to live in.

There is nothing magical about a large percentage of HN's members possessing a valuable skill(ie. programming, hustling).

Also, despite being an awesome place to be, SF is expensive to live in.

Agree. But there are enough hacks around it. Dining out too expensive? Cook at home. Apartment too expensive? Commute to SF on BART or get an apartment in the Tenderloin. etc.

I would say have your contacts meet you in Haight-Ashbury, Northbeach or Golden Gate Park. You shouldn't miss out on the actual city while you're here.

That one seems to have been lost, this is the new one http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=38865
