I don't want to be that guy, but here we go: get a pair of AirPods if you haven't yet. I'm in the same situation as you and it - oh no, that guy again - changed my life.
I got all excited thinking of the potential of keeping this at the bottom of someone's pack given it's low weight, until I remembered how much I despise people flying drones on top of my head whenever I'm out in the outdoors, looking for a peaceful place to connect with nature.
Exactly how I feel. For me, I think the best use case for drones, if I were to get one someday, is for shooting sports/events where the prop noise would be drowned out by an already noisy environment.
Like motocross, or a basketball game, or a car meet.
There's no way I'm taking out a buzzy drone when out on a quiet hike or at a typical campground. Just kills the calmness.
We all need something to do given we do not have a purpose in this world, except for bearing children maybe. People love to philosophise about the meaning of life and find all ways to be sad. There isn't - keep yourselves busy, anything!
I'm surprised at how few people have read "Candide" by Voltaire. It came to the same conclusion and was written when the US were still the colonies. I'm sure there were earlier works that would have said much the same thing, but it was so playful in its takedown of organized religion that the jokes still land centuries later.
Philosophizing and trying to figure things out is "keeping busy." Philosophy, when coupled with writing and teaching, is a very active pursuit. It has nothing to do with depression and depends on soberness of the mind and cultivation of perception.
