Someone should vibe code a new version of Aperture

Please do go ahead and try it. Should just take an afternoon, right?

This sounds like a great half-day project. Just use Gas Town and create a team of product managers, senior and junior developers, designers, and architects and have them get on it. (I recommend keeping Opus as the senior, and Sonnet as the juniors). Once you do this, you can release it and you'll be a (very financially successful) hero!

For me the worst part is that I (and they) don't fully know what the person asking me from the estimate wants me to build, and usually the fastest way is to just build the thing.

I think that's where technical issues come in. For a web based SaaS app it's not worth the devs time to make multiple versions available. Even for local apps, I would say most of them have some functionality tied to an API and now you're back to running multiple versions of that server.

Yeah that's what I felt watch that video.

The reason I've heard for games which I assume is similar here, is that there's licensed code used which the developer can not release because they don't own it (someone else does)

A lot of people mentioned not being able to find this when you want it later. I wonder if a list of tags in a Firefox bookmark would make it show up when typing in search to use instead of just googling for it

You need remember one thing: Prism.Tools, search it on the Goog ;)

Yeah I agree, it did fail, but it's not worse because the people running it were trying to ring money out of it's users. Maybe they did take their eye off the ball trying to make it something else though

This response sounds quite toxic actually

Because you don't want to hear it, that's all. It's not toxic, it's idgaf.

Wow, no search is a deal breaker. Might as well just delete my email, that's pretty secure.
