My understanding is the United States has one of the strongest post-pandemic recoveries, the printing was definitely a factor.

I'm not arguing against QE I am saying there was too much of it and we could have had recovered just fine without the severe inflation that landed us in the current predicament.

Lower inflation and higher growth than every peer nation?

The Fed absolutely crushed it. Totally unambiguous.

Here are some ambiguous things:

1. Inflation

2. Comparing peer economies

3. Counterfactual timelines

What country did better (other than the imaginary retconned one in your head), so we can discuss the comparison directly?

Plus a bit of minding the til, as the fraud involved was out of hand.

For the 5 years I've been at Microsoft it's always been $150 monthly.

But it's a restricted type of subscription. For example you can't reserve instances.

Interesting. So the premise of the article is wrong, where he says he only gets $300 a year. Apparently he even works in Azure. Would have thought he would get more given the role.

Yes, it's the standard Visual Studio Enterprise credit that you get with the license - 150/month

https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/member-offers/cred...

Which means that you need a Visual Studio Enterprise license that costs $500 a month, unless you can get it though partnership programs. I take it OP doesn't have an Enterprise license.

Every Microsoft employee is given a license as part of working there, at least if you're in the eng orgs.

I've had mine for over a decade.

One of NYT's recent podcasts (The Daily) covered this, basically the Biden administration was reluctant to give the UAE access to Nvidia chips because of their close dealings with China. 2 weeks after this crypto investment, the white house agrees to give the UAE access to the chips.

Here's an article if you're interested: https://www.nytimes.com/2025/09/15/us/politics/trump-uae-chi...
