Redesigning https://kintoun.ai/ , my document translator that keeps file formatting and layout (almost) intact.

Can we have Scott Forstall back please?

Document translator that keeps layout intact.

Zen of Palm

Mobile app developers, if you haven't read Zen of Palm, I highly recommend this piece of art. You can download the PDF for free. Nothing beats Palm for its simplicity, responsiveness, and (perhaps subjectively) ease of use, even to this day.

I wrote a series of blog posts about it nearly two decades ago, and later translated some parts into English: https://dingyu.me/blog/zen-of-palm-1-preface

Unfortunately that link to the Zen of Palm PDF is broken (at least from my work machine). I couldn't find it in the Internet Archive either. Any suggestions?

EDIT: Disregard, found it: https://archive.org/details/zen-of-palm

A simple document translator that preserves your file's formatting and layout.

Document (DOCX/PPTX/XLSX etc.) translator that preserves your file's layout.

The first thing I do after opening this page (or any other phone announcement) on Hacker News is press cmd+f and search for "headphone". Turns out not many people care about this anymore.

I still do, and I surmise there are many who simply do not comment. They do not want the downvotes due to wrongthink.

I can, and will, totally use this as my daily driver on my MBP 2013, if there is Tailscale and a up-to-date iTerm2.

The UI is soooo much better than the current Mac OS.

I'm afraid the newest compatible iTerm2 is 3.0.15 from 2017 [1].

It's open source so it might be possible to build a newer version to be compatible, or to cherry pick certain newer features. It's not an app I use though.

Meanwhile, it’s not weird that people think what other people actually want are weird.

WezTerm

The author of this feature also ported it to the Windows Terminal.

Besides, Chrome OS’s built in terminal also has tmux integration.

Do you have links to any examples? I've searched for this on and off for years, and i use Wezterm, but i've never been able to make it work like i remember the iTerm2 integration working.

Would love for examples using Windows Terminal as well.

I downloaded it to try it and it basically worked out of the box. What did you try?

Wait, how do you use it with Windows terminal? Same SSH config?

In fact, Windows Terminal has an open issue for the CC mode: https://github.com/microsoft/terminal/issues/3656
