It's a bit misleading to say Hydro doesn't tackle climate change, though it is environmentally unfriendly.

One particular political party loves to make jokes about "clean" energy, by conflating different definitions of clean. Generally, I think it's fair to say climate change is the biggest concern, so I am comfortable when "clean" or "green" refers to CO2 free.

My concern with California hydro is the water wastage. Nothing excuses the amount of water California wastes.

This link from 2021 says the net power consumed in CA was less than 34% renewables, and the in-state generated renewables are about the same.

I wrote "at this moment", which meant instantaneously, not overall, or for 2021 as there has been very fast buildout.

I mean depends where you are. If you know how to use Maps and spot tourist traps you'll be fine.

The problem with those backups is that GPS is so easy to use and reliable that the skills to fly without them might atrophy.

If the idea of a phone - a computing/telecommunication device that use natural philosophy and not magic - were presented then an initial price can begin to be formed, defined as the amount of money they are willing to spend to develop it.
