I mean for most purposes should be very similar so makes sense the price is similar

Reduction in premiums doesn’t mean reduction in profit.

It generally does. If accidents (and payouts) drop by 90%, revenue will ultimately drop and profits will follow. Profit margins may increase, but total profit $$ will likely drop.

Aren't insurance profits capped to some percentage of revenue in most jurisdictions by law?

Yes, this is true - but it’s still beneficial enough to have fewer claims. Claims incur cost in many ways and running a business with fewer claims would be more predictable and likely worth the minimal trade off.

> Standard GitHub-hosted or self-hosted runner usage on public repositories will remain free. GitHub Enterprise Server pricing is not impacted by this change.

Because that implies that String is a random access collection. You cannot constant-time index into a String, so the API doesn't allow you to use array indexing.

If you know it's safe to do you can get a representation as a list of UInt8 and then index into that.

My understanding is they both have their strengths. If you want to build everything yourself, Hummingbird seems like the way to go but Vapor is more batteries-included.

Most cases we see here do only lock the media side of accounts. It’s concerning this blocked the entire account.

Inflation adjusted it would be about double since 1998 - $223 billion, this Netflix deal is for approximately 1/3rd that amount.

Oh you think Apple is treating Netflix bad? No no no.

Netflix refuses to play game, because they want to keep their data to themselves. Apple would LOVE Netflix to integrate into the app.

And quite rightly so. Why would Netflix let Apple list all their content in an Apple branded interface as if it were their own?

Because it makes a potential customer's life more inconvenient, so the customer has incentive to not buy Netflix. For example, me. The only reason I have for not buying Netflix is this little thing.

Also,

> Why would Netflix let Apple list all their content in an Apple branded interface as if it were their own

That's not how it works. It literally says "Open in Netflix" or whatever app. All it does is make it easy to search for stuff, add it to your watchlist, and start playing it.

What Netflix doesn't like is that it makes it easier for its customers to watch non Netflix content...which is obviously anti customer.

I hate to tell you this, but it might not be the full story that making search easier is "all it does."

Why doesn't the macOS App Store game search include results from Steam? That would be a very consumer-friendly thing for Apple to do, right?

The answers to both questions are related.

Netflix does not have to pay Apple to be indexed in the TV app search feature.

It is purely an inconvenience to Netflix’s customers for the sole benefit of Netflix.

Ah. That makes sense.

Thanks for the elucidation.

If that's the case, then we'll probably lose another app or two.

:'(

Wi-Fi and Cellular is why your phone knows where it is, that already works.

I’ve been using Phonak app for a little over a decade now, I’ve tried to Oticon, but had disappointing experiences.

Currently using rechargeable Phonak Audeo with an air fly for connecting to any device other than my phone to avoid Bluetooth switching chaos.

I wish iOS had better control controls over microphone routing but with iOS 26 you can change the microphone during a call to be the phone microphone, even though the hearing aids have their own microphone.
