"I am authorizing the emergency use of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID‑19 Vaccine for the
prevention of COVID-19, as described in the Scope of Authorization section of this letter
(Section II) and subject to the terms of this authorization. Additionally, as specified in
subsection III.BB, I am authorizing use of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID‑19 Vaccine and of
COMIRNATY (COVID-19 Vaccine, mRNA) under this EUA when used to provide: a two-dose
regimen for individuals aged 12 through 15 years; a third dose to individuals 12 years of age or
older who have undergone solid organ transplantation or who are diagnosed with conditions that
are considered to have an equivalent level of immunocompromise; or a single booster dose at
least 6 months after completing the primary series to individuals: 65 years of age and older; 18
through 64 years of age at high risk of severe COVID-19; and 18 through 64 years of age whose
frequent institutional or occupational exposure to SARS-CoV-2 puts them at high risk of serious
complications of COVID-19 including severe COVID-19."
If I'm interpreting this right:
- the existing vaccine is still available under emergency use authorization.
- a different vaccine called COMIRNATY was approved.
I didn't understand from FDA's letter if COMIRNATY exists.
First paragraph of the FDA announcement answers all your questions, chucklehead:
"Today, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the first COVID-19 vaccine. The vaccine has been known as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, and will now be marketed as Comirnaty (koe-mir’-na-tee), for the prevention of COVID-19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older. The vaccine also continues to be available under emergency use authorization (EUA), including for individuals 12 through 15 years of age and for the administration of a third dose in certain immunocompromised individuals."
The existing vaccine was approved, and had a marketing name change. It continues under an EUA for younger people.
Why is this Malone person more trustworthy than the CDC+FDA?
According to both the FDA News Release and the letter, it's under emergency use authorization for all ages, not only for 12-year olds and for booster shots.
That's a false dichotomy. They could be totally fine with the intent of this app, but concerned with its potential secondary effects. And "something they did in the past" suggests they have stopped doing it.
Yes, and Scotty will use the crisis to lower company tax and regulations, whilst thousands of poor souls line up at Centrelink.
It's sad.
The app is poorly conceived and probably useless.
This is how we sleepwalk into a surveillance dystopia.
But if it tracks politicians' illicit dalliances and time with lobyists, property developers and tax haven financiers, that could be useful. Just need a bureaucrat to do a copy and paste, then send to Wikileaks.
Councils picking up and disposing of stuff is paid for by the council. Councils are your customer.
Collect stats on the number and type of items picked up per council. If you get any traction, tell the councils it will cost X$ to keep the service running in their area.
This will only work if it solves the problem of illegal dumping. I have yet to see anything of any value dumped in my area outside of the normal council pickup times and during these times the pickers do this job already of hauling away all the stuff of value.
I am amazed at how low in value the pickers will go. I have thrown out stuff with almost zero value and they have taken it away. My wife and I are always amazed at what gets taken by them.
I totally agree that tablets suck for creation. But I think you're assuming that programming is the only thing to learn via a device.
In my day job we make educational HTML games for kids learning english and math. A heap of schools use this as part of lessons, and we get a lot of extremely positive feedback from teachers.
As to whether an iPad is better than a computer? From a kid's UX, and IT infrastructure POV, tablets are generally seen as better/easier to use and maintain.
At home, I try to keep my kids off screens whenever I can though...
Hope everything works out for the best, and you're all shiney soon. If you're having stomach issues though, maybe a burger and fries isn't the best meal you could look forward to? Maybe celebrate with some sushi!
You need to know more than the person you're freelancing to...
Since you've had a few years in a related field and built up some contacts you should be good to go (as long as you have a good rep with them). Let them know you are offering a new service, and get some info up. No matter what you're going to be learning new stuff the whole time, so you may as well just start now!
I think the "low res" comes from there being a pre-defined number of segments making up the curves. Smaller curves just look smoother. To get them all looking smooth would require more complex subdivisions, and maybe bog it down?
It's freaking me out, but my tastes have totally changed over the years. It used to be The Dead Kennedy's and 70's punk, but lately it's minimalist modern classical, like Robert Rich or David Darling...
Reich is somebody who I've been introduced to in the last couple weeks. I haven't tried him yet, but I find his work absolutely mind blowing...and exhausting to listen to. It's like a really great hike up a mountain, watching the scenery slowly change the entire way, then absolute exhaustion at the end of the climb.
Steve Reich is another Reich worth listening to. My work/concentration playlist has Music for 18 Muscians, Violin Phase, and Octet. All great minimalist pieces that are interesting enough to keep your mind engaged, but not too distracting.
