> Murdering someone without trial because you don't like their political speech- why, I think there's a word for that.

Oh yeah? What's the word for accusing someone for murdering without an iota of proof?

> Oh yeah? What's the word for accusing someone for murdering without an iota of proof?

A murder accusation. What's your point?

This is a distortion of the statement that was actually made / what is actually claimed.

The prime minister put his credibility that of the government on the line. They obviously have evidence and are convinced of this being factual as the price to pay for being wrong will be very steep.

By the way, the word you are looking for would be the same for someone accusing of lying or deception without an iota of proof.

Slander, defamation?

Amazing idea. How did you figure out the licensing aspects since you are also giving out book content for free in the process?

They're probably public domain books.

Looks like it is one of those posts on HN that beg to question - will HN sustain its quality?

No, of course not, any funny post means the death of all good content on this site, ever.

\s

Out of context though but the same story was submitted to HN 4 months ago. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6238053, yet today it clicked. Reminds me of http://blog.ploki.info/what-if-successful-posts-on-hackernew...

Neat. Needs a bit of work though. At least 3 things come at the top of my mind: 1) Search 2) Categorization/keyword 3) Don't directly dump the page in an internal frame. Use some content summarization tool. I loved the way readability.js by arc90 worked. Use that. Do a world of good to your users and your website.

Even more so, the point I liked is about introducing the concept of open sourcing to medical equipment manufacture.

>Fed up with the unreasonably high price, cumbersome design, and dishonest distribution practices of clinical ECG machines, I decided to create mobilECG, a clinical ECG that is different.

Maybe one day we'll see some more open sourced sophisticated equipment, which are not only portable, but also reasonably priced and better designed.

I particularly liked the way Harsha Bhogle compared how a nation clings to heroic figures during dark times. Don Bradman served as a hope to the cricketing fraternity of the time after the second World War and similarly Sachin was the fulcrum for the Indian people to look up to and induce a fighting spirit, especially after the Indian economic debacle of 1991-92.

Quoting it again, "When Sachin made a 100, India slept well."

This takes the definition of the word 'crowdsourcing' to a new level.

This is actually classic crowdsourcing. We find different sales experts in the crowd and place them in small and medium organization to help them do more sales.

It's actually just outsourcing - but I see that crowdsourcing is the buzzword of the year so I understand why you'd use it. I'd prefer the outsourcing approach with one or 2 good guys who know my product over a factory style team any day!

The difference is that people who work with us are actually contractors who pick their own hours and work from home. They can come and go as they please but we still ensure quality using our technology and processes.

that sounds great - but it still doesnt make it crowdsourcing in the truest sense of the word. I dont care where the guys are sitting - I care that they produce good leads!

Actually, it sounds more like outsourcing unless my 20hrs is coming from 20 different people in the crowd. Is it?

If we talk about the broader perspective, so much credit should go to the Indian Supreme court and its patent office for taking bold stance, time and again, on this broken patent system, allowing generics to make affordable ones.

For example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Novartis_v._Union_of_India_%26_... talks about how cancer drug were made affordable. Novartis (Switzerland) set the price of Gleevec at USD 2666 per patient per month (which is almost double of India's annual per-capita nominal GDP USD1414); Whereas, generic companies were selling their versions at USD 177 to 266 per patient per month. We can safely presume the situation to be much worse in Africa.

Based on this possibility, support is being replicated to Africa, notably for cancer, AIDS and TB.

Hey FF team, did you get the cake from IE guys? This tradition started by IE always makes a good story to tell, especially for an industry infamous for cut-throat competition.

As far as I know they stopped when Mozilla tried to abuse their generosity by switching to a shorter release cycle. Not cool, guys!

I don't think Mozilla changed release cycles with the intention of getting more cake...

You never know...

They stopped a couple of years ago. For the first few small releases 5-7 the IE team sent a cupcake instead but they stopped with 8.
