Our kids have been out of diapers for a couple of years. We loved these bamboo diapers[0] Nearly as good as pampers. Much softer and much better for the environment. I have no relationship to the company.
And disposables dropping at 10cents a pair. Holy crap! I thought they were expensive now.
Finally we had a crazy trustee in our condo assoc that wanted us to scrape the poop off before we threw diapers away in our community barrels (in sealed bags of course). We just smiled and nodded.
Interesting. I recently cancelled and reordered a card and I have still been able to make purchases via Amazon without ever making an update. In this case I am happy about it because I am lazy but had no idea how it was working. Presume this is what is going on.
Just recently I was in a small shop where I was surprised to see epaper tags and ended up talking to the owner about them. She said they were super flaky and would reset at random. Agter that interaction I am not at all surprised a flipper could mess with them. But I also have not seen them widespread at the physical outlets I shop at.
I know people who regularly stole this way. They would usually work in pairs and one would leave a full cart near the exit and the other would walk out confidently. Worst case they figured they would just act the fool and either leave the cart or pay. Irked me that they did this but not enough to rat. I bet these days doing that with any kind of regularity would have you starring on much higher quality film.
actually a sign of our times that we can gripe about this. i remember how annoying it was to rent a car on a business trip without anything other than a road atlas. you had to dedicate a fair bit of cognitive load you really didnt want to use.
Indeed. I remember flying to Atlanta and arriving at midnight. I rented a car and had to try to find my hotel in the dark with one of those one-page maps the rental car company had. So, yea, we’ve come a long way for the better.
In the 80s I rented a car from the Minneapolis airport. Drove to my hotel visually navigating with respect to the tall buildings of downtown. Eventually realizing I was in St Paul.
I was at a small conference north of San Diego and thought I could find my way back to the airport for an early flight. I did but not before making a U-turn at the Mexican border. My excuse is the darkness (and of course no gps at the time).
I primarily use Apple maps and bounce back to google sometimes because I think the browser experience is so much better and it is faster to just type my terms right into ironically safari. Every time I do I think it is still simpler and snappier. Especially true if I have recently tried to use the MacOS maps app… that never behaves how I would imagine it should if I go beyond a simple location search. There are things about the ios app that make me crazy too. No qualms about the maps themselves these days.
This misalignment is especially bad at startups. In my experience security is only prioritized when driven by the customer and is largely a performative box checking exercise.
When I message my claw "Mark that I had 825 calories for lunch today", it has marked down 825 correctly 100% of the time so far.
It shows me way fewer ads than all the popular fitness apps and loads way quicker since it doesn't have to load like 10MB of ads for me to enter one number, so it seems like a good improvement.
I do not think it's an improvement over an excel sheet, but as the average openclaw user, I would rather pay anthropic $10/day in API credits than create a google sheets document.
I do something similar with Claude Code. I say, "I ate a single serving of that Toasted Beef Ravioli that Aldi sells." Claude web searches, finds it, gets its nutrition info, then uses gspread to add it to the daily food log tab of my spreadsheet.
So much less hassle, lower activation energy needed than with MyFitnessPal.
They said they were able to see a few planets during the eclipse. I know they definitely saw Mars as they were discussing the red color. They saw Venus which was visible in the live feed from the GoPro on the solar panel. IIRC, they were thinking Saturn would have been visible. My guess is the really bright dots are planets. It looks like some horrendous compression artifacts along with some possible lens distortion. My exif app says no exif data in the jpg you linked. Did you come to that image from their website that provides the EXIF to see what lens it was? Nothing looks like a galaxy in the image to me.
Edit: After further looking and some zooming into it, I'd say the bright dot closest to the moon is Venus, the next one has a red tint making it Mars, and then the last one would be Saturn with the rings. There might be a couple of galaxies in the upper left corner. I was quick to dismiss and blame on compression. The benefits of not having to shoot through atmosphere. I wouldn't have expected that detail in what I'm assuming to be a fairly fast exposure
Appreciate the detailed response. I think it would be a borderline miraculous photo if they are planets aligned in that way. Zooming they look more like artifacts or galaxies to me. I spend a good amount of time looking at planets from earth through binoculars and even with an atmosphere they resolve better than that.
I'm pretty sure I'm right about the planets. The planets are aligned that way. If you're experienced looking at them with binocs, you should be aware of that. The line the planets are on is known as the ecliptic.
You are right. I do think it is miraculous that the trajectory happened to bring the capsule into a solar eclipse and Mercury, Mars and Saturn are positioned in this way. This site helped me understand the current/past positioning[0]. Even though there is no reason the photo has to be oriented with the planets to the right. I am still surprised at how blurry they look when zooming given what I see from Earth with binoculars. I guess they are magnifying considerably more than this lens.
In retrospect it was pretty silly to think they could have been galaxies.
I think we're seeing issues of refraction from shooting through the windows of the capsule. That's causing the glowing or blooming effect from the point light sources. What I thought were possible galaxies look more like distorted stars from the refraction. I finally found a higher resolution image. All of the brighter point sources have that diffraction. It looks like some trailing of the stars as well.
That link is a nice visualizer. On the day of, the live cast announcer stated we were seeing Venus in the feed from the GoPro. But that seems incorrect, and it looks more likely to be Mercury.
This is terrifying. I have not used agents because I do not have a sandbox machine I do not care about. Am I crazy to worry about a sandboxed agent running on my home network? Anyone experienced anything weird by doing that?
Yeah, I actually have both an alias for `rm` and a custom seatbelt sandbox which means the agent can only delete stuff within the directory it’s working in, so wasn’t an issue, was just fun to watch it say “hm, that doesn’t seem to work. Looks like the user has aliased rm. I’ll just go ahead and work around it”
