And yet our water rates are still as if we are in a drought.

The costs of delivering potable water and removing sewage/excess rain from a given lot or area is unrelated to the quantity of rainfall in a timespan measuring less than quite a few years.

Of the $250 of a water bill on Seattle’s Eastside, about $50 of it is something I can do anything about (use less water). The rest is fixed costs even if I never use a drop. It isn’t hard to imagine that California isn’t much different.

Wasn’t ARM suing because of this, what ever happened with that?

The lawsuit is still outstanding.

Presumably the claimants would not seek to enjoin distribution of the new design, that would be suicide. They probably just want royalties that Qualcomm would ordinarily have negotiated on their own as an architectural licensee. Or perhaps, what they previously paid as an architectural licensee.

Boarding, happens all the time in Long Beach, CA. Haven’t seen it deboard that way though.

Isn't that why most "license agreements" contain arbitration clauses now?

Even if you go to arbitration Apple will still need to justify their actions to the arbitrator.

Literally smalls claims / arbitration works.

Except Apple is paying the arbitrator, so they are inclined to give them the benefit of any doubt. Not saying you can't win in arb, but it's an uphill battle.

Apple is paying the arbitrator because it's a requirement of arbitration.

Apple is happy to do this because even when the arbitrator decides they're in the wrong it'll 1) be much faster than court 2) be much less than a jury awards. There are pretty much 2 arbitrators in the US and so they can afford to lose a single client.

Its only uphill if you have an actually bad argument such as _just_ the statement "they broke our TOS.".

Wouldn't the company still need to show up and tell the judge that there is an arbitration clause?

Additionally (I am not a lawyer) arbitration does not override any court or have any authority unless authorized by a court. If a party does not cooperate with the arbitration, the other party still has to go to court to convince a judge that the arbitration was good and get the judge to enter a judgement against the noncompliant party.

If as a consumer, you agree to arbitration and it is grossly unfair, you can still go to court and the judge can decide whether or not to use the arbitrators ruling or make their own ruling. The other party would also have to convince a judge that their unfair arbitration was fair.

If the consumer sues in small claims court, then the company would need to petition the court to compel arbitration. Large companies (like Apple) sometimes expend what would seem like irrational amounts of money on lawyers to make a statement. So, I wouldn't assume that they would balk at petitioning to compel arbitration.

In terms of the arbitration itself, it is very hard in the US to get an arbitration award overturned. So, wouldn't bank on that.

I just tried daisyUI for a current job and found it a little frustrating. Couldn’t figure out how to modify backdrop on a modal, is just one example. Wound up just using headlessUI, which is from the makers of Tailwind… and also free. Albeit, not as robust as DaisyUI.

I can agree that daisyUI works good as it is but can be a pain if you need to customize it a "little". I often write my own components if I have to make change to Daisy's. :)

The judge ruled it was "fair use" because the VM's are used for security testing. The company behind this also requires you to register before they allow you to use the VM.

I made something very similar. https://cjboco.github.io/wordfinder/ - except mine you use normal keyboard to create your word and the on screen keyboard to exclude the characters. Think I prefer your way.

I have a Prusa i3 MK3S+ and am currently building a Voron 2.4. I looked at the Prusa XL, but I’m going with the 350 x 350 Voron Build instead. Mainly for the experience of building one, but also because I wasn’t to impressed with the new Prusa.

There’s an attempt to name ALL the rgb web space colors... https://colornames.org/

I wanted to add Violet Evergarden to one of the colors, but there are already 22 Violet Evergardens. Lol.

I'm not 100% sure, but I recall a story about a division of Samsung that made watches, being banned from selling them in Germany or somewhere like that. They copied/cloned something that Rolex did (Maybe the quartz crystal or something like that). Does anyone know the actual details about this story?
