I pretty much one shot a scraper from an old Joomla site with 200+ articles to a new WP site, including all users and assets, and converting all the PDFs to articles. It cost me like $3 in tokens.
I guess the question the is: can't VScode Copilot do the same for a fixed $20/month? It even has access to all SOTA models like Claude 3.7, Gemini 2.5 Pro and GPT o3
Vscode’s agent mode in copilot (even in the insider’s nightly) is a bit rough in my experience: lots of 500 errors, stalls, and outright failures to follow tasks (as if there’s a mismatch between what the ui says it will include in context vs what gets fed to the LLM).
I would have thought so, but somehow no. I have a cursor subscription with access to all of those models, and I still consistently get better results from claude code.
no it's a few hundred lines of python to parse weird and inconsistent HTML into json files and CSV files, and then a sync script that can call the WP API to create all the authors as needed, update the articles, and migrate the images
> If European leaders don't watch this and realise they need to take control of their own destiny they're idiots. Several European leaders visited this week bending the knee to try and stave off tariffs.
European leader are desperate because they realize obvious truth - US will soon implement regime changes all across Europe... European elites are simply not up to task of dealing with this new revolutionary era.
The turning point had been last year when Zuckenberg explained to Congress that Administration forced Facebook to manipulate public opinion but he now regrets it.
> One-liner # ... or // ... comments that start or end with “AI” are instructions to aider. When aider sees “AI!” it reads and follows all the instructions in AI comments.
We are extracting structured data from financial notes. It had been done by financial analysts before or not at all. The results are production grade and we already have clients (financial institutions) extending contracts to include additional data.
The savings are significant. AI generated report costs us 0.5-1 dollar, human analyst can do 1-3 reports per day at cost of 150 USD. Some of analysts will be let go at the end of the year as far as I know. Others on the other hand have adapted, became necessary part of the process and will work at different level - prompt writting, data quality checks at large scale etc.
We have visited recently a simliliar company like ours in another country. They had similiar project to ours and have failed despite having competent IT team.
> Yet Europe is still home to some of the largest stock markets in the world including LSE, Euronext, FSE, SIX Swiss, etc.
Total valuation of LSE Euronext is laughable compared to NYSE or Nasdaq. (5,7 vs 30 + 16 trillion USD).
Not to mention that largest European company is producing scarfs and handbags vs Nvidia, Apple or Amazon. It is XIX century vs XXI century comparing EU to US.
Not for long. There are a lot of similar drugs, some already on the market and others in the pipeline. Recent clinical trials have shown that Eli Lilly's Zepbound (tirzepatide) is superior to Novo Nordisk's Wegovy (semaglutide).
Novo Nordisk also makes cheaper insulin which probably keeps Eli Lilly in check in free markets.
Come to think of it, Airbus is a similar example of European competition with the US that keeps the unfettered capitalist competitor in check. Boeing stands to lose something if there is a competitor waiting to eat their market share. Of course, the US is a bit protectionist so free market rules don’t always apply there. But they do in many other parts of the world.
Using aider is another option. Or Assistant in Zed. - diferent approaches but both very effective.
