it supports standalone, may allow sideloading apks too, sounds more powerful than quest3 and also - no lag because the 6Ghz wifi doesn't go through the router, so long as you are close to the PCVR source - it's probably lag free.

Yes and these are not new problems.
I encountered showstopper limitations backgrounding processes that make use of iBeacons, back in iOS 7.
The potential for data collection is massive.
I was tinkering with a firechat inspired mesh messaging concept as an indie iOS dev. I could not dismiss arguments about potential privacy concerns w/ persistent background apps advertising and scanning - but the lack thereof certainly dampens innovators too.
Although I did not speak openly of "TI" I did experience this phenomenon. Following obsessive dieting and exercising, then into a batch of seizures, I somewhat rapidly fell into the TI abyss. I consider myself today to remain a "voices hearer", although it's gotten much better over time and I am mindful to get more sleep than I need, as that's been the most curative for me.
That episode came on in 2012, and it has felt like it took > 10 years to fully recover.
It certainly wasn't helpful and to the contrary extremely reinforcing when the whole snowden story broke.
This is a dreadful pit to fall into.

What recourse would you have? Would a FOIA request ever validate your claims? Where do you even begin to try to reconcile with this, as a firmly held belief?

My voices are illusory, they require a prompt. It can be water running, it is horribly triggered in large crowds. I still have panic attacks in Ikea (but who doesn't?)

I got better.
It took 10 years of my life to get it back, mostly.
It takes a lot out of me to even begin to try to share any of this.

meanwhile, some overworked analyst is freaking out deciphering event logs where a single users idling tab is refreshing into a dead link or a dead session.
True story. During this investigation, we learned that the vast majority of users (at least for our product) refresh/close tabs every two days, but takes 40 days to get 95% of users. Two users have had a version of our page open for over two years at some point in the last 5 years.
It wouldn’t be so appalling if the clothes were made from sustainable, biodegradable materials.
I appreciate that the article calls out the trash as being like an oil slick, which is a sticking point I think we all can be upset about, and use our agency to demand change.
Don’t buy plastic to wear. Tell manufacturers (brands) they are grotesque for using plastics in clothing.
For the past few years I've tried to buy socks, underwear and even T-shirts without any plastic in them.
Turns out to be extremely hard, borderline impossible in many countries (including US and EU).
It gets even worse if someone doesn't want to buy online and wants to find a local shop then the chances go even lower. I'm not I've seen an 100% cotton product in ages in a physical store.
If you wear more classic mens clothing you can dress pretty much 100% in linen, wool, cotton, silk, leather and various brass/steel buckles. 100% merino wool (winter) or linen/cotton/silk blend (summer) for socks, underwear and t-shirts. 100% cotton and linen for shirts and trousers. 100% wool knitwear, suits, formal trousers, jackets and winter coats. 100% leather shoes.
Not to mention the clothes themselves last decades.
