DNA tested for what, exactly? I guess things like fragmentary remains may not be human, but a full skull is not so easy to confuse for a donkey. Ethnicity would only be useful if the saint in question had origins that would be out of place in Italy or if they had a specific ethnicity(like St Peter's remains not having a Levantine origin).

>I'm pretty sure we're already decades in to the world of "has created".

Simulacra and Simulation came out in '81, for an example of how long this has been a recognized phenomenon

I swallowed a rock when I was a kid (ok, maybe calling it a "rock" is being a bit dramatic, more like a pebble), does that make me a tool?

....wait, no

the real question is how much of the art is their own and how much is outside expectations and their reactions to it.

And it's not always giving in to those voices, sometimes it's going in the opposite direction specifically to subvert those voices and expectations even if that ends up going against your initial instincts as an artist.

With someone like A$AP Rocky, there is a lot of money on the line wrt the record execs but even small indie artists playing to only a hundred people a night have to contend with audience expectation and how that can exert an influence on their creativity.

The Doomerist paralysis has been engineered by the folks who look to benefit the most from inaction, mainly the fossil fuel and related industries.

To not even attempt to head for the lifeboats is suicide.

Exactly what is it about CO2, a plant food, that scares you so much? You do realize that green plants react to increased CO2 percentage with stronger growth?

You're the one calling me a "doomer"?

Plants and humans both love water, but you can still drown.

Please attempt steelmanning the global warming greenhouse effect and its consequences as an intellectual exercise.

He was asking you to try to 'steelman', or take seriously the strongest version of, the arguments of your counterparts, rather than being dismissive.

"Plants like CO2" is not a counterargument to "Increased atmoospheric CO2 will have a number of outcomes that are net negative for humanity", so I presume they're asking you to actually think about the argument being made and respond to it, not some other, made up one.

Where do i even begin to respond to this?

Plants growing slightly faster does not mitigate the many consequences of increased CO2.

Nitrate is a plant food too, doesn't mean it's not killing large parts of the ocean.

I didn't call you anything, I wasn't even talking to you.

Sure, but if your customers can't even use the AI products because your OS is dysfunctional, then you're still losing out.

NO FUN IN MY SCIENCE ONLY SERIOUS BUSINESS LIKE GOD INTENDED

Novelty doesn't mean fun, it could have been a joke because the work of scientific research is literally finding novelty, that which is new, pushing boundaries of knowledge, etc.

Novelty can increase enjoyment which can imply that the activity is "fun" (though not all enjoyable activities can be categorized as "fun").

However, using the context clues, I surmised that the original poster, that is the one who enjoys seeing emojis being used as bullet points in literature produced by his colleague, finds this to be "fun".

Is that pedantic enough? AM I GOOD ENOUGH???? WILL YOU LOVE ME NOW DADDY?

perhaps it would behoove a company that routinely has the safety of millions of people a year in their hands to consult 3rd party experts to ensure that those people aren't maimed or killed.

But I'm just some guy with no incentive to endanger human life if I think it will save money so what do I know

>On a scale of atrocities humans have committed, I can't really think of anything that is more atrocious than the felling of those sequoias

You sure about? You sure you don't wanna think about that one a little longer? Because I can think of a few from just the last few hundred years

it's Broicism; Modern self-help for dudes that think enjoying sex is feminine and washing your bung is homoerotic. The primary consumer is unlikely to read the entirety of The Meditations and prefers short, punchy aphorisms they can memorize.
