I'm experiencing the same problem with my Google Home ecosystem. One day I can turn off the living room lights with the simple phrase "Turn off Living Room Lights," and then randomly for two straight days it doesn't understand my command

Google has caught a serious case of FOMO. Every major/minor player is scrambling to blend search with LLMs.

This is no simple case of FOMO. I'd rather say that this is a classic case of the Innovators Dilemma. It's their Kodak Moment.

Nice Job!

Genuine Question: what is the source of the underlying data?

Thanks!

Data is scraped live from the marketplaces.

Did you find some walls put in place by these sites to block scraping?

I have a little project like that written in R that has surprisingly worked well over a year without maintenance but some marketplace were off-limits without specific proxies

Crayons were accounted as food supplies? /s

It was a line item under "consumables".

Tinfoil hat mode: "What if" this results from a foreign influence?

But I guess that you don't need to find answers externally when stupidity is a much simpler reason

I've been wondering this myself, not that I necessarily believe it. If they _were_ acting at the behest of a foreign adversary (pick your reason: leverage over an individual because of a targeted campaign, leverage over all of them because of the SolarWinds/Salt Typhoon hack, cash, etc.), how different would their actions look?

Sometimes the tool doesn't have to know he's a tool. The Russians use the term "useful idiot".

They've created the back doors, I'm sure that the Russians and the Chinese are now in the systems the DOGE people broke.

foreign influence like a South African blood diamond heir?

That accusation is wildly off base. He's a blood emerald heir.

The constant need for tailored slide decks is what's destroying my motivation atm

Maybe I have phrased my question wrongly, the focus wasn't the LLM but the fact that apps like these or functions like Apple Intelligence have risen after the AI era begun

If you know a similar app that serves the main purpose of summarising your notification without the use of an LLM I will surely check that but my main goal was to find apps that serve this purpose

As an Android user with (too) many notifications, I'm interested in a concept like Apple Intelligence that tries to summarize your notifications

I have found this app on the Play Store but I'm wondering if there are alternatives to evaluate

I remember in school one trick was always to start finding the verb and then use that to build a broader context of the phrase

I want to share your optimism regarding the EU (countries) continuing the support for Ukraine. Still, if the US drops its support and its moral and (material) persuasion to the EU, I'm not sure that the EU won't pull the plug as well, considering the wavering and indecision shown by several countries regarding the approval of aids.
