predominately via templates. pass in data via json. hopefully it can be made really simple for the coders to use.

Coders don't make infographics. Graphic designers and marketers do. Infographics are highly customized to their topics and you pretty much need to be an illustrator to make a good one.

I'm confused about how an infographic made through a template would look. Any examples?

Infographics are increasingly made by software people like Ben Fry. The NYT has a whole team dedicated to these sorts of graphics.

I haven't seen his work, but I suppose we should clarify the distinction between infographic and data visualization.

im purely thinking of inforgraphics atm. in my head dv is more on the scientific plotting and charting side, while infographics is more about conveying key metrics in a visually attractive way.

i only have one template at the moment. nothing release worthy, it uses svg for the template. i am building an internal system at the moment and wondered if it is worth trying to make one that is open to others to use

working now...

very clear tutorial. thumbs up

concurred, thusly it is the technology known as P Salt. The crusty residue left when drying out P

Phosphor?

Well, in some parts of the world, "p" is slang for methamphetamine. I'm guessing here that the OP rather means urine. So, let us all boil our urine into salt!

i guess it would depend on the budget you have in mind. i bet lots of startups on HN would sell a share of their biz to get some cash.

boy there was a lot of talk about bananas when i took a look.

a while back there was a post here about quadrant methodology. it fits nicely in with it http://quadrant.tumblr.com/

I get a lot of resumes, a large number of them are just not suitable, I think of them as being close to spam. You should think of them like that to.

there is a fair chance the 40 year olds are applying for roles that don't suit them, especially if you are clear in your job ads that it is for a junior/graduate. Sometimes it is because they have just moved to the country or are changing careers and are looking for a way into the workforce.

Even if you give the unsuitable people a chance, you will probably find that they really want to get paid more and will leave you for a pay rise as soon as possible ( perhaps within a few months ), leaving you in a bad situation where you have to then rehire.

You will only be doing yourself and your business a dis-service.

This applies at any payrate

i like the look, seemed to work fine on my laptop. will try on a few more devices

something like hulu, but without the limitations. advert sponsored or reasonably priced subscription for payment.

Do you believe subscription or advertisement is necessary to sustain the platform? What about membership without a fee, based on a choice of plan or individual purchases?

the business model is probably a big topic. You would need some surveys to find out what the general public think ( maybe that is why you are asking on HN )

From what i know of tv show pricing, the purchasing of prime time shows is 2-5million per episode for the tv channels to air it. so they have to play it many many times and get advertising and maybe subscription against it to pull a profit.

I guess Itunes is a "pay per episode like model", but i would be more interested in not thinking about purchasing each show.
