That should be the norm everywhere but one tribe's entire identity is being intolprant of people and things that ultimately have zero effect on them or anyone.

Yeah, except Twitter has no moderation anymore, in fact isnhas the opposite problem where people can pay to force their crappy views on everyone with blue checks.

Twitter isn't the problem, Musk is the problem. Twitter was fine until he took over. Bluesky is Twitter - Musk.

I don't know how people do it. I have been blogging for like 20+ years now sometimes regularly, sometimes with gaps. I am lucky if I get 5 visits per day.

I'd be quite happy with 5 visitors a day (if they're real, and not bots)!

It's going to depend entirely on the quality you are looking for. You don't have to go nuts like these people are talking about, you can store tons of movies in 4-10 TBs.

In addition to what the other commenter said, about Disney, I like to download Concerts and live tracks off Youtube, especially when they are early in the career of an artist I like, because you never know when the record company will try to memory hole that stuff and it becomes difficult/impossible to find.

Even with me and other like me, someone int he future has to happen upon someone who saved it, and is willing to share it, if you go looking.

In most cases, it's not an "arbitrary world view", it's "reality."

Yeah, instead of being trained on 4chan Nazis like Tay was, Grok is trained on Twitter Nazis.

Much better.

They basically all have substack newsletters, just move there

I think the problem os your perspective.

Its more like, "Everyone needs to do X so that everyone can BE safer."

The impression I get in some cases, is less that it's the best choice, but more that a lot of companies have decades of data or systems all inter operating with it, and migrating things to something modern would be a nightmare but they can't afford to lose the data.
