Very impressive congrats!

LLMs are significantly improving every month (few weeks?), I feel like whatever us devs say on here will be outdated soon.

No need to search for long, for instance Sonnet recently outranked most GPTs: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/machine-learning/anthropic-clau...

If it's not 'every month', it is at least improving regularly, like every other new revolutionary technology.

Don't understand the downvotes though.

I'm thinking of creating something similar to OP app (Without the "ChatBot therapist" part). However, what could the actual risk to "Dear Diary, today I cheated on my wife" be if that information is sent to GPT3/similiar anonymously? I.e. no metadata able to ID the user?

Somewhat related - if you haven't yet, do see the "My Octopus Teacher" doccie on Netflix. Extraordinary creatures are these.

Alternate title "Assassination Classroom"

That’s funny

I can recommend “Other Minds” by Peter Godfrey-Smith for a pretty in depth read about octopus intelligence. Fascinating stuff!

All right, this keeps coming up. I’ll put it on the list.

Made a platform for party/drinking games over Zoom.

https://ziago.co

Games run on Realtime Firebase DB, so players join with a link and everyone is kept updated with game flow and other player actions etc.

So far had 10000 people play, and has 9 games and still working on more. The focus for now is on social/turn-based kind of games.

Runs on Vue and Firebase. FB helped me to launch it in a month. Wrote about it at https://codeburst.io/how-i-built-a-real-time-games-platform-...

Cool! Will have to check that out. I've been doing "happy hour" with a handful of friends in multiple countries each Friday and mostly I just screen share one of the Jackbox games (the "You Don't Know Jack" people). Video and audio is sent from my PC and people use their phones as a "buzzer".

Still, despite having multiple games available, I'm always glad to test out some other options.

Great, would love to hear any feedback!

Looks awesome, I've been recently playing Jackbox over Zoom with friends and was hoping to find something different. Will check it out.

Thanks, hope you like it!

Built a platform for people to play social games with friends and family over Skype/Zoom.

https://ziago.co

So far 8 games, adding more weekly. Games follow the same code patterns, so about a week to add one.

Everything runs on Firebase, needed something to launch quickly with real-time capabilities. Vue on front-end.

Would love some feedback.

This looks great. I love the focus on "party games".

What about adding poker or even making a dedicated poker app? I'm in a weekly, virtual poker game that is a mashup of different tools.

Would you have an email address or another way of contacting you? Your contact form / suggest a game links appear inactive at present. Would love to discuss something with you.

Add more family friendly ones. A simple way to do a pub quiz type of game would be awesome! We do one but showing the questions on screen would be great.

Absolutely, quiz type games will be great on this. Yes working hard on more non-drinking games. Tx.

This is pretty much what I wanted to build, but with way nicer design! Looking forward to playing with it on our next games night.

Tx, I'm a designer by trade so that helps.

I'm currently working on a real-time games platform for more social-type games over video calls.

https://ziago.co

It has a few popular drinking games also. Working on adding more intellectual games soon.

Would be happy for some feedback/suggestions.

It's running on Firebase and Vue.

Hi HN!

Indie Hacker here. I thought of this idea after trying to play drinking games over video with friends a while ago. It didn’t really work, so I thought I’ll build it. I have some extra time with my country being in total lockdown, so trying to make the best of it.

The games require real-time functionality, so I used Vue.js for front-end with Firebase Firestore as the DB. I’m using Firebase cloud functions to do some BE logic, and Hosting also from FB.

I’m pleased with getting to this point in only 12 days, and the reason for being able to deliver so fast is without a doubt depending on platforms/pre-built stuff/serverless/using emoji’s over graphics.

I bought a Vue dashboard/UI kit pre-built, so styling was minimal. Had the domain lying around for the name.

So, here I am after about 12 days, please check it out! And if it sounds like fun, would love for you to test it with friends! Would love feedback, suggestions etc.

Next steps is to add more games, especially family friendly ones, and build a microsite, currently the whole thing is running in an SPA.

It’s at www.ziago.co

P.S If someone is on PH, and thinks it’s shareable enough - would appreciate a mention.

THIS. I've been feeling this for the last 4 odd years in tech consulting. "Dreams giving way to fears". Spot on. With me also the "comfort zone" factor. Getting use to how things go and settling in. You're not alone.

Fair point, in my case we're on exactly the same career track/speciality unfortunately.
