There is also a video on his yt channel going through the process (and pain) of creating the backport. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTUMNtKQLl8

I'm quite young so this happened very recently. Me and my friend created an Android app for students that could let you view our school's online workbook (so grades, lessons, news etc) in the app without opening and logging in the website. Some time passed and the workbook gained popularity among other schools (mostly because it was open source) and so did our app. Then a school asked us to change the ui a bit and paid us 80€. I think I used my 40€ in pc parts and other stuff :) Soon after we stopped working on it and graduated.

There are still like 200~ users using the app even after 2 years since we stopped updating (and it crashes a lot).

The free upgrade from win 7 keys was used for years as a way to permanently activate any copy of windows using a tool called MAS[1]

Try this https://github.com/pyamsoft/tetherfi It will route all hotspot traffic through your phone and vpn. Works even without root

That seems cool, but I'm looking for something that would be totally transparent to connected devices (i.e. wouldn't require reconfiguring them at all).

I wasn't expecting such a good written article. Good job Tailscale!

I tried but youtube from browser is too slow to load video

> i have to ask, why do you need newpipe to support google account login?

Because i like what yt recommends me, and since i disabled search and video history it only recommends me channels similar to my subscriptions with a mix of trash/clickbait video (that sometimes helps me get away from my phone). With newpipe i would be stuck with the same channels and wouldn't discover new channels or content

I don't think this attack can be used on a large scale because if the browser has a custom theme you will quickly notice that the popup is not from the browser. If it is used on one person, customizing the popup for his specific browser is almost impossible to notice it

Vast majority of people tend to stick to the default theme. And of course, those also tend to be the most vulnerable to phishing attacks
