The description from GP, and the photos in the article you linked, seem like polar opposites of each other.
I basically just wrote my answers in a neighboring comment, but I would try Spacemacs (default is Evil mode aka vim mode) backed with an Obsidian vault. I share a subfolder of the vault with my wife via iCloud, who can open it up on her phone and see the content and make edits in a non-techie way.
I have been interested in trying emacs for a long time (I recently found an old emacs config file of mine from 2003) but I haven't actually used it until the last few months when I gave Spacemacs another shot. Coming from vim, and having some pretty great defaults out of the box, I wouldn't suggest anyone try anything else at this point.
That said, I'm still trying to wrap my head around how org-mode can work with my existing Obsidian vault. So far it's working pretty well, but I still feel like I'm missing some things to make it really all click together.
I need to get a job at Apple to stop “omw”-> “On my way!” (Complete with the `!`) from reappearing in my Text Replacements every month or two, no matter how many times I delete it.
(Try typing “I’m omw to the car” or something to see how annoying this is)
Apparently the current state of the art to fix this problem is to remove it and add an "omw" → "omw" text replacement in its stead. A friend recommended this to me and I haven't had problems with it since. Yes, it's nuts, but it is what it is.
I'm not OP, but no, I want to pay a fair price for things. I don't mind paying a lot more for avocados if it means no one has to die or be abused to produce them.
What point are you even trying to make? The difference between gone bad and fermented is pretty obvious, but fine, don’t eat anything fermented if you like.
I’ll be over here enjoying cheese, kimchi, beer, miso, pickles, sauerkraut, etc etc etc
This whole thread was uncalled for honestly. It takes source, it makes an exe, that meets the definition for compiler to me. Your pedantry is not useful.
