I'm constantly amazed how developers worship Apple while Apple couldn't care less about them. Bugs that never get fixed, documentation that's incomplete, wrong or non-existent, and their bug tracking is a complete joke.
Maybe. There's also a good chance you'll get a battery whose actual capacity is not less than what it says on the label. This Project Farm video looks into that question. https://youtu.be/Xf0qqsRMKpM
My friends and I have very mixed results with knockoff Makita batteries. Some work just as well as name brand, others have roughly half the rated capacity and perform much worse in the cold. I’m assuming your use case is light duty since you’re using a 1.5 Ah battery now, so getting a knockoff probably makes sense.
I’ve used knockoff M12 batteries for a while, no real issues. You can get them in larger capacities than the official Milwaukee ones which is my main use for them. I would imagine the Makitas are the same story.
Hi, I'm the author of the blog (though I didn't post it on HN).
The site was originally secondary to our business and was built by a contractor. It was secondary to our business and we didn't pay much attention until we actually added the episode pages and the bots discovered them.
I saw a lot of disparaging comments here. It's definitely our fault for not understanding the implications of what the code was doing. We didn't mention the contractor in the post, because we didn't want to throw them under the bus. The accountability is all ours.
Same, but I wouldn't call an open demolishment of American democracy a slightly negative story though. It's a complete 180 from the post-WWII rules based order we're talking about and people attempting to rationalize the flagging as if this was just another mundane news not worth discussing should be ashamed of themselves.
When everyone feels this way instead of fighting for the future they want to make reality... There are journalists, protestors, entrepreneurs, unionists, billionaires, etc, all fighting for what those history books will say. Ukrainians are fighting for what they will say right now.
I think a better question is what do you want them to say. Do you want them to say tyranny triumphed un-resisted?
I have my own company and can work from anywhere where I have internet. At this moment I would not enter the USA, if maybe checking my email is considered working. Just the fear of being stuck for weeks, nope.
Never visited the USA, and probably will hold that for a few years.
There is always the answer "some users" found it too political, or not technical related and down voted. Maybe because YCombinator has a certain user base that skews towards being pro Tesla. I don't know how many bots are running here.
Either way, negative Tesla articles are usually "flagged" within a few hours.
