websites loaded faster in 1999 than they do today. web devs increasingly suck at their job and we end up loading half the internet every time I want to read a news article.
internet became fast, but instead of faster load times, we got animated UIs.
am I the only person who sees this as a webdev problem and not ISP problem? I don't want my website to recursively load the entire freaking internet with Russian nesting doll dependency loading.
when did we stop caring about optimization and good technical design?
I think they do if it means more, and more reliable funding. see patreon and in video ad content. artists and creators are already having to fund directly,
fully hackable. they give you for shell access over USB, and it has exposed io ports for custom accessories. they encourage you to play around with the firmware and expand its capabilities how're you want, it is part of the product design and intention
yeah, this isn't caused by qealth inequality. it is a separate issue, but not in housing g shortage. housing isn't a fixed sum game in usa, we have plenty of space and materials to build. the issue is that we do not allow for building to be built in the right locations in the right volume. zoning and local laws are the reason.
I'm surprised more content creators do not upload their content to other platforms. the video is already made. is yt really the ONLY monetizing platform outthere?
YouTube is the best monetized platform for videos. TikTok is notorious for paying terribly. I don't think Facebook pays much either. You pay Vimeo to host videos on their platform.
The other alternatives like Nebula and Floatplane paywall all viewers, and doesn't seem open to new creators without a viewerbase.

hyperbole obviously, but not entirely wrong.
