It would be nice if the release notes could be updated to say that. Right now it says

> To better protect all Firefox users against side-channel attacks such as Spectre, we’ve introduced Site Isolation. We’ve got your back...errr...side!

I'll ask to update the release note.

Can you actually point to a sentence in the terms of use which say that? I see nothing like that on the PACER website.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PACER_(law)#Costs,_revenues_an...

> Some courts such as the District Court for the District of Massachusetts have explicitly stated that "fee exempt PACER users must refrain from the use of RECAP,"[13]

I'm not sure if this is binding, or applies to fee-paying users.

Generalia specialibus non derogant so yeah, the warning was specifically for fee-exempt (like if a judge gives you research waiver from the $.10 fee because you're indigent, pro se etc.) users.

He might have to. As far as I can tell they haven’t even started selling individual parts yet. They all just say “Coming soon” on the website. I’m not sure what they are waiting for.

My guess is that they are using up all their manufacturing capacity to sell new full laptops (and DIY kits). Their current manufacturing setup seems to be that they periodically batch a bunch of what are essentially pre-orders and then get things manufactured after the fact.

Once they're more established and have money in the bank (hopefully that happens), they can think about ramping up manufacturing and actually keeping inventory before it's been spoken for.

Until then, at least the commodity parts (RAM, storage, WiFi card) can be replaced with off-the-shelf parts bought from NewEgg or wherever.

> in an low-friction, anonymous manner

Ah yes completely anonymous, unless you want to withdraw https://support.brave.com/hc/en-us/articles/360032158891-Wha...

It's crypto, cashing out requires identification according to government laws unless you're a money launderer.

They refreshed the iMac with new Intel processors two months after the Apple Silicon transition was announced, I think that is what they were referring to. I doubt any other computers will get new Intel processors at this point.

Another solution is for them to just delete that old device.

Settings -> Security & Privacy -> Check the box next to the old device -> Delete Session

That helps, thanks. We searched a lot but couldn't find it a few months ago, is it new? Or maybe it didn't exist on the web app?

The whole point of Matrix is that you don't have to use matrix.org to use Matrix. Anyone can host a server and talk to anyone on any Matrix server.

So you're suggesting grandma connects to a different server when setting up the app?

next you're going to tell me grandma should just use IRC instead.

Grandma's hate IRC. The text is just too damn small! How can ya see anything?!

Also so many n00bs !

> Anyone can host a server and talk to anyone on any Matrix server.

I host my web, my email, my XMPP, my TURN/STUN, etc, so I gave Matrix a try. In short: it's horrible. It's insanely resource hungry, both synapse and dendrite, plus dendrite is so not finished it hurts.

Stick to XMPP until Matrix is in an actually usable shape when one doesn't need a small power reactor to run it.

When was the last time you tried? My Synapse is stably hovering around 400M RSS with about 10-15% CPU usage. It has about 20 active users, each with 2-3 devices and is joined in hundreds of rooms on the federation.

> When was the last time you tried?

Hmm, interesting. What kind of resource usage do you see, compared to mine?

If your devices are on iOS 14 / macOS Big Sur then you can just start playing music or a video on one device and the audio automatically switches to that device and pauses on the one you had previously been using.

As a data point I've got 299 service workers according to about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox

Time to remove these. Thanks!

And thank you for the link! I was not going to find that one on my own...

Another place to get all of the documents in this case is https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/18552824/united-states-...

Any time someone buys a document from PACER and has the RECAP extension https://free.law/recap/ installed in their browser it is uploaded so everyone can view it for free on the Court Listener website.
