Happened with MySpace, even though the web was kinda new to most people and MySpace wasn't as established as Facebook/X/Instagram are now

Also, Livejournal, and to a large extent Tumblr. And _endless_ webforums. And Freenode. And USENET.

so what was it?

Agree, plus a lot of tweets will have replies to accounts that exist on Twitter that will be broken and a lot of Twitter-related talk

from my observation, techies, gaming, black twitter, journalists, artists, OF models, and of course left-wing people

think it's cool to do the milestones, but i agree not every time a million is added, maybe when BS hits 25m next

I don't think think is entirely true, truth social was just MAGA echo-chamber, Bluesky has a much wider net - i see a lot of academia, tech, artists, environmentalists, a lot of small communities there - some have migrated completely over there

it's starting to change now - definitely give it another spin in a week or so - a lot of organic non-musk/twitter content there now

tbf some of these products are simple features like the youtube stories one, if you made a similar list for a large web company (like Meta), that list might just be as big

Stories is hardly a "simple feature".

Most of the examples, if not all, are standalone products.

Hope this gathers more momentum - crazy that Apple/Google charge 30% of the subscription, especially for competing products.

I'm the founder of a fitness app on the app store - a product that Apple offers. So on top of them having the home team advantage on the os/app store and Apple's name recognition, they're killing their competitors' margins.

is there anything similar to this out?
