Hi HN!

Two years after having the initial idea, I finally just released my new product: WPLytic.

WPLytic is a WordPress analytics plugin that runs entirely on your already-existing WordPress LAMP infrastructure (uses the existing WordPress database to store the data).

The main benefits of using WPLytic are that no data is sent to third-party services (like Google Analytics), you don't have to pay any extra monthly fees, you don't have to create a new account anywhere and you can install it in a few seconds.

It is a premium (paid) plugin, because this is what I do full-time. I do think that the lifetime license with optional paid support/updates is the best way to sell self-hosted products.

I have actually created WPLytic by mostly only deleting code (from my other similar, more feature-packed platform called UXWizz[0]). The main idea was to have a more affordable, more private and easier to use WordPress-only product. One advantage of having it WordPress only is that I can do specific WordPress integrations (such as using the WordPress users system to log into the dashboard). Another big benefit is that I know who my target audience is (WordPress website owners), which makes it a lot easier to market it. One issue with my other product, UXWizz, is that the target audience is too broad, so it makes pricing, marketing and finding the right features to focus on very hard.

Happy to answer questions and read any feedback (I especially find useful the more critical comments that point out possible flaws in the product, branding or the entire business model).
