I don't understand Westerners trying to make a life in China where there are arbitrary detentions, no consistent&fair rule of law, no due process, and no expectations of property rights. It's like trying to build a sandcastle on an iceberg and expecting to grow old there.

That was basically just some guy talking about his life. He just happened to be asked to leave the country he was staying in and, with no real reveal as to why he had to leave or what exactly he had to leave behind, I can’t understand why this was even written in the first place?
